Most guards, including the flimsy factory transfer guards, are mounted directly to the transfer case. This does not protect the fragile actuator mechanism and can transfer loads directly to the transfer case, cracking the casing. Replacing an actuator or transfer case can cost several thousand dollars and may even leave you stranded out on the tracks.

Our Actuator Guard does not mount to the transfer case, but rather mounts to the chassis rail and central cross member, providing unrivalled strength and protection.
